Motivation

Motivation pushes you to success

During my everyday trading I often meet technically well prepared traders who suffer from psychological problems. Unfortunately it has huge effect on their trading performance. I found their lack of their personal motivation the biggest fault in their market approach.

I mean, they obviously want to become a winner, they want to make money - but they don't have enough persistence, discipline to do their best every given day in every single trade. They just simply don't desire, don't crave for the success hard enough! Yes, it IS hard to be focused all the time but it IS essential! During hard time when market conditions are not the best, when you've just got some losses you feel alone in a battle. Even in these periods you should keep your motivation level high to continue with the good job and not to turn away from your goals and your determinations.

3 simple questions that help to clear where you are now and where you are going to

1. What would be the cost if you were not able to turn your trade to success? (financial, family, career, health, etc.)

2. How will your life improve once you have achieved consistent success in the market? (possibilities, opportunities, time, hobby, travel, etc.)

3. What would you do to achieve these goals?

Tools of my motivation

Goal settings
I use the answers to the question above to set my goals. I write them down (excel sheet) detailed with date and the way I can achieve them. I regularly read them and make small notes (I achieved this one and that one, how I managed the way, etc.) These experiences give me feedback on what I am doing, how I am doing, what my next goal is, etc.)

My photo album
I collect as many pictures as I can about my goals (long term and short term as well) from the smallest ones to a greatest ones (dream house, car, travel, health, family, hobby, yacht, sport, etc.) and I watch them many times every day. While I am watching them I imagine my life as I've already achieved them, how I feel, what I do, how I do it; just if I lived between them. Fantastic feelings!

My success book
Also I write a "success book" about my success in my life I've already achieved. Everything that I could manage with success has to go in it to remember me to my "values". Sport, job, career, family, partnership, home, study, everything goes in there. I don't have to say that I read this "book" frequently; I enjoy my glory many times when I see them. :-)

These are my stuff which support my positive thoughts even in challenging times. It is very important to see your values all the time to evaluate yourself positively; every single person needs positive feedback from his/her 'best friend': from himself/herself.

I recommend you to create your tools and take delight in them as often as you can!
